Join us at our nursery for an afternoon of learning about seed collection and propagation of native plants!

We’ll take a walk around the farm to learn about some of the native plants that grow here, collect seeds from them, and then take them back to the nursery to process them to get them ready for propagation! Topics covered will include seed cleaning techniques like threshing, winnowing, screening, wet-processing, and some more advanced techniques.

Then, we’ll talk about seed dormancy and the various ways we can get our seeds to germinate. Participants will be able to take home lots of the seeds we process so you can grow your own!

Did you know we don't just grow plants? We also offer botanical inventory services for your property or project site!

A detailed inventory of all the vascular plants in your property can help you make better and more informed targeted management decisions for it. Even in properties that are fairly developed or disturbed, there can be some very interesting species persisting there, and sometimes even species of conservation concern. In inventories we've done this year, we've located more than twelve species that were previously unreported for the counties they were found in, or hadn't been seen in decades! Our goal is to help people understand how important native plants are, and the roles they play in our ecosystem, and knowing what's around your property is often half the battle.

If you're interested in having a botanical inventory done on a property you manage, send us a message or visit our website!
