Our list is ready! But first did you know that the elderberry tree is not only great for pollinators but it’s also great medicine? That’s right, Sambucus canadensis (American elderberry) serves as both an important plant for wildlife and a medicinal herb. It produces large clusters of white flowers in summer and dark purple-black berries in late summer, which are edible when cooked. Traditionally, the flowers and berries have been used to support immune health and treat a range of ailments, while the plant provides crucial food and shelter for many bird and insect species. We love it for all of it’s values.
AND we have made our harvest and are currently taking orders for Elderberry syrup, or if you want to make it yourself at home, we have kits available for purchase too!
Can’t wait to see you tomorrow!

Our plant list is ready!! But first, did you know that several trees are host plants for butterflies? What are host plants, you ask? Host plants are the plants needed for the adult butterfly to lay her eggs, then the eggs hatch, and the caterpillars eat the leaves. In this video, the caterpillar is a Giant Swallowtail, feeding on a Ptelea trifoliata (Hop tree (also called Wafer ash). Cool fun fact, during the depression, b**r was made from the
“wafer seeds”, and this is how it got its common name “Hop tree”. This shrub or small tree has fruit that are of particular interest too, as they posses quite a few medicinal compounds which exhibit anti-bacterial, anti-rheumatic and digestive tonic properties. And we absolutely LOVE our native medicinal plants! Butterflies that use this as a host plant are; Giant Swallowtail, Twotailed Swallowtail, & Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. We have this in stock! Fall is the BEST time to plant trees!🙌🏼
Can’t wait to see you!
