At The Kitchen Lady we have evolved from the 1926 old kitchen design method of what is known as:

“The Frankfurt Kitchen”.

Now we have developed a new method called:

“The Compass Kitchen”

which is a seven step process in accessing what is most important to the client and at the heart of it is our overall health.

Through a well designed easy fun questionnaire we can determine your best kitchen design, your particular set of priorities and you’ll get to know you.

It’s been 100 years since anyone has developed a better way of thinking about how we use kitchens.
It’s no longer about putting a wife alone in the kitchen to cook the meal fast and efficient which was the point of the old standard Frankfurt Kitchen.

It’s about time to update how kitchens are designed and after forty years and thousands of kitchens later The Kitchen Lady™️ is proud to announce The Compass Kitchen Design Philosophy.

Newly completed home renovation by
The Kitchen Lady™️ in Laguna Hills!

“Medieval Times” was the theme of this unique clients aesthetic which was carried out through the range, hood, lights and leaded glass inserts.
Paneled appliances helped to accent the lovely focal point range from Ilve.

Freshly finished Designer Kitchen by
The Kitchen Lady™️.
We Build Kitchens!

Our latest kitchen, completed tonight at 7:30 PM.
This masterpiece home renovation took ten months in design, planning and installation.

We more than doubled the size of this beautiful cook’s kitchen featuring Omega Cabinetry, unique one of a kind quartzite, custom ordered Fireclay Tile, Sub-Zero Appliances and new flooring.

We also helped with a bathroom remodel, hall cabinets, and new custom furniture in the living room.
This kitchen is located in the South-bay of Los Angeles in adorable Lomita, California.

Thanks to Universal Appliances for staying late tonight and getting the 48” Wolf Range installed and the 48” Refrigerator plus the under-counter microwave!!

The Front Kitchen (Museum Kitchen)
and the Back Kitchen
(Dirty or Butler’s Kitchen)
is catching on again!!

This trend was popular during my Shady Canyon designing days 15 years ago and now this week I have two clients who want front and back kitchens again!!

I’m happy because it’s two coordinating kitchens and it keeps lots of people busy working on my installs of permits, planning, as-builts, structural engineering, demo, electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, 2020, Chief Architect, cabinets, cabinet installation, countertops, tile and a whole bunch of appliances: five ovens, four refrigerators, two sinks, microwave ovens, new doors, new windows, new flooring and cool lighting!!

These kitchens are lots of work!!!
This took a little more time than usual to put together and I was happy with the results!
Thanks to FedEx for helping me print out my renderings today to get me ready for my presentation with my team!

A Day at LACMA and lunch at Erewhon!!

100 years ago today a woman architect was hired assigned to design a kitchen prototype for
The Frankfurt Project in an effort to rebuild Germany after World War I and it became known as
The Frankfurt Kitchen.
It is now on display in the Resnick Pavillon at LACMA.

The entire original kitchen is there for all to see along with a huge exhibit of household items and furniture.

I took my Mom and Dad to see all three museums on Monday and we were all shocked to see this huge exhibit since I’m The Kitchen Lady and my parents owned Quesco Cabinet Supply in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

The woman’s name was Margarete Schütte Lihotsky.
She and her boss Earnest May did massive research and laid the foundation for the modern efficient fitted kitchen.

In this post you can get an idea of their genius that still exists today helping people cook and have fun in the kitchen.
