and
It’s truck day at Valley Alarm. All our techs roll into the office to wash, clean, and restock their trucks, so we decided to have a little fun with them.

The challenge: we call out a number, and they pull the tape measure to it by feel. Nail it and win a dollar.

Nobody won a dollar.

These are the same guys who run wire through every kind of building you can think of, so we figured somebody would get it. How close do you think you’d get?

Happy National Boss’s Day from the whole Valley Alarm family.

We’ve been family-owned since 1981, and that still shows up every day in how we run this place. Today, the team got together to thank the people who built it and keep it moving.

Thank you for leading by example, for having our backs, and for making this a place people stick around.

What happens when someone hops the fence at your vacant property at 11 PM?

At 11:15 PM in Torrance, a man climbs over the fence of a vacant property monitored by ValleyGuard and starts tagging a wall. The camera's analytics pick him up and send an alert to a remote operator, who pulls up the live feed.

A warning plays on the site speaker telling him to leave. He stays at the wall.

Seconds later, the remote operator comes on live, calls him out by his black jacket and tells him he's calling the police. He leaves.

According to the incident report, the operator then checks the property on every camera, finds no further sign of him, and goes back to monitoring at a high state of alert.

From one alert: two warnings, a sweep of every camera and no further action needed.

If this were your property, what would you want to know the next morning?

What happens when someone climbs onto your jobsite at 2 AM?

At 2:21 AM in South Los Angeles, an intruder climbs over the wall of a construction site monitored by ValleyGuard. The camera's analytics pick him up and send an alert to a remote operator, who pulls up the live feed to decide what to do.

He's still standing at the wall when a warning plays on the site speaker telling him to leave. He hears it and starts to leave, moving out of the camera's view.

Moments later, the remote operator comes on the speaker with a stern warning to leave immediately.

The rest happens off camera. According to the incident report, the operator issues a second stern warning over the next few minutes, and then a final one. He doesn't comply, so the operator contacts LAPD dispatch and tells them what's happening on site. The dispatcher says a patrol will be sent. The operator then informs the site contact and goes back to monitoring the jobsite at a high state of alert.

From one alert: four warnings, a call to LAPD, and a call to the site contact.

If you were the site contact getting that call, what's the first thing you'd want to know?

Brian Beltran from Honeywell stopped by the office recently for a fire alarm session with our team. He covered the new Silent Knight Ultra panels, Fire-Lite's panels with a built-in communicator, and wireless fire devices, and the guys kept him busy with questions the whole time.

Brian's been in the industry 27 years and has worked with Valley Alarm for about 15 of them.

Fire alarm technology keeps changing, and staying good at this means we keep showing up to learn. We've been protecting businesses in the San Fernando Valley since 1981.

That's Brian (second from the left), with Matt Weinberg, Rod Sepulveda, and Rick Danklefsen. Thanks, Brian.
