Why white cabinets in a house full of color? Because the kitchen is where they actually live, and it deserves a calm backdrop for all of it. We love color. We also know where it makes sense. 🤍

A turnkey home in the Bay Area is basically a unicorn. Start with these five things, and we can turn the right bones into something amazing.

The rest of this Berkeley Tudor is bright, airy, and full of color. This room was meant to feel different. 📚
Our clients needed a study: a home for collected books and relics from their travels. We kept the original millwork, added William Morris wallpaper overhead, and gave the fireplace a gas insert and Ann Sacks tile with a whisper of luster, so it feels like it was always there.
Most of what you see is family: her grandfather’s cane chair from India, his grandmother’s reupholstered armchair, and an heirloom lamp topped with a shade from Liberty in London. The rugs came from a Bloomingdale’s closing sale, heirloom quality at a fraction of the cost.
We styled every book and treasure so their stories could shine. Swipe for photos →

Bring on the mess. Bring on the vague, fuzzy ideas.
That’s why you hired an interior designer. If you had it all figured out, you wouldn’t need me.
My job is to take those fuzzy ideas and help you find your voice. This is my favorite part of the job.

Some clients are just a dream. These two handed us their whole renovation — the house, the timeline, all of it — and trusted us to run with it.
Berkeley Craftsmen General Contractors Inc. and Maria Anderson were the best partners a designer could ask for. Tight timeline, big vision, and this team made it look easy.
And this reel? Just a small taste of the magic we pulled off in this house.
If you’re staring at a house that needs work and thinking “I love it, but…” — that’s exactly our thing.

Our clients bought this quirky Victorian in the country — and instead of leaning into country vibes, told us to go bold. Color, vintage finds, personality everywhere. Challenge accepted.
We’re pretty thrilled with how it turned out.
📸Bess Friday
