A portable court’s alignment starts with the connections beneath the surface.

When Florida State University experienced alignment issues, they asked QHF Sports to thoroughly inspect the court’s closing systems during scheduled summer maintenance. Our team resecured, repaired or replaced components damaged by the wear and tear of repeated installation and removal.

With the panels securely closed and gaps eliminated, the existing game lines no longer aligned. At the university’s direction, we sanded, repainted and refinished the court in its corrected alignment—establishing a fresh starting point for future installations.

The result: a court that installs quickly and easily, with no visible gaps and a brand-new look, just in time for basketball season.

The University of New Orleans has transitioned into the LSU system, becoming LSU - New Orleans.

This summer, QHF Sports received the court we first finished back in ’23 and began a total maintenance inspection before the next phase of work began.

After inspection, the court was sanded and painted according to the adopted LSU branding guidelines before the final finish was applied.

From the center-court artwork to the painted borders, game lines, keys, and full-court layout, this project reflects a new chapter for the university and its athletic identity.

Summer is the window schools count on to get gyms ready before athletes return. Sometimes, that window turns into a rescue.

QHF Sports was called to inspect a competition gym after confirmed water damage from a utility closet. With volleyball season already starting this week, the district needed a fast, practical plan.

The approved scope included inspecting the floor, removing the water-damaged flooring, cleaning the slab, preparing the area, and installing a temporary portable court for volleyball and basketball use. After ensuring the existing basketball and volleyball standards were met, our team installed thresholds and platforms to keep athletes and the public safe.

The lesson: gym floor planning should include the floor and the utilities around it. A small failure nearby can create a major schedule problem.

As summer winds down our crews are still out there, across the great state of Texas, ensuring these gyms are ready in time for volleyball practice.

This gym is both clean in its simplicity and statement-bold to invoke school pride. Reinforcing our sentiment that gym floors are a communal space, and serve as the front-door to the school.
