Growing Bursera fagaroides outdoors instead of in a greenhouse. Many plants, including most pachycaul trees grow better outdoors here in California. Branches stay more compact and trunks fatten up faster. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

We are finally producing seed on our Dioscorea sylvatica mother plants here at Botanic Wonders. We got a late start on growing this species, but it looks like we will have a nice harvest of several hundred seeds this year. We are very excited to add this species to our inventory list!😍😍😍

We are finally starting to get a nice selection of cacti seedlings that we have grown here at Botanic Wonders. Growing cacti is quite different from succulents and caudiciforms. We hope to grow this selection over the next year!πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Update on Pachypodium seeds I planted last week here at Botanic Wonders. We have some nice germination starting to show up. Pachypodium seed is best when planted fresh, the seed will degrade the longer one waits. Pachypodium namaquanum germination is looking especially good!πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Pruning one of my oldest Operculicarya decaryi specimens today. This plant was grown from a seed approximately 25 years ago. I wanted it to resemble a Sequoia or Redwood tree. This has only been done with pruning, no wiring. I will do this touch up trimming two to three times a year. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Revisiting our Euphorbia stock plants today. I repotted many of these plants earlier this year and now they are showing some nice growth. In the process we also lost some plants which is just part of what happens with plants. Still makes me sad.πŸ˜”Overall o am very pleased with the new growth. 😍😍😍

Quick little tour of my gardens here in California. We had some good rain last week and today we are back to high temps with a Santa Anna building up. This is where hot air from the desert blows towards the coast. Plants are looking happy after the rain!🀩🀩🀩

Potting up Euphorbia obesa seedlings today. This seed was planted in March and we are still getting some seed that’s germinating! This was the first Euphorbia species I bought as a young collector. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
