Congratulations to the Sabinal community on this epic community gathering place. Plazas are the soul of many cities. People working together with passion and foresight is why we love this work.

Sabinal officials approved the first conceptual designs Sept. 14 for a $1 million downtown revitalization project that would replace a stretch of vacant buildings with a plaza for food trucks, vendors, community events and recreation.

Some problems are real head-scratchers, like when the DOT rips a massive highway through the downtown small block grid at an angle. The HWY impacts daily lives, divides a community, and formed dangers from all angles. Castroville,TX is a little town with a big sprit seeking to overcome the challenges and plan for a bright future. The Simplecity team are working hard to frame viable solutions to this extremely complex situation. Castroville Dreamin’, a community think tank gathering will be taking place January 16-18 .
