Some architecture belongs to a moment.

John Lautner’s architecture belongs to every era.

Brian Linder and Kris Conner describe the Sheats–Goldstein Residence as being both ancient and futuristic at the same time... a place that feels like a primordial cave while simultaneously resembling a spacecraft from the future.

That rare balance is what makes Lautner’s work timeless. It doesn’t follow trends. It transcends them.

This reel offers a glimpse into that idea.

In our upcoming YouTube interview, we sit down with the architects who have spent decades preserving, restoring, and expanding this extraordinary masterpiece, sharing stories and insights that few people have ever heard.

THE FULL INTERVIEW PREMIERES FRIDAY, 8/14 ON YOUTUBE.

Some places transcend architecture and become art.

John Lautner once said:

“Any work of art has to have a spirit... it has to have a feeling. If it’s alive, it’s art. If it’s static and dead, it’s not.”

That philosophy is woven throughout the Sheats–Goldstein Residence. Every space, every detail, and every view was designed to create an experience, not just a building.

This reel is a small glimpse into that philosophy.

In our upcoming YouTube interview, we sit down with the architects who have spent decades preserving, restoring, and expanding this extraordinary masterpiece, sharing stories and insights that few people have ever heard.
