Saturday Morning Volunteer Day at Limelight Community Garden!!

Where's Brenda ?? Hidden in the Pigeon Pea Plants!!

Our volunteers worked HARD today!!!

Lolly and Brenda and Linda all did an AMAZING job weeding all the beds. New Volunteer Will came and watered for us, and Kelly turned our Compost Bins again so we can have organic fertilizer for everything!!!

What’s blooming? Loofah, Okra, Eggplants, butterfly plants, peppers, onions, white scallop squash, red garnet amaranth and more!!

We welcome volunteers every Saturday from 8-11am and throughout the month to help us water 💧 the gardens.

We still have beds available if you're interested in one for the year so you can grow your own food.

Come garden with us at 730 Apricot Ave across from The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime.

Kelly harvested the Butterfly Pea Plant vine that we grow on the fence.

Not only are the flowers beautiful and attracts butterflies and bees but you can make a ‘magic tea’ that changes colors (check the pics), fancy ice cubes, and you can dehydrate or dry them so you can make more tea! And it’s a great antioxidant!!

Steeps a beautiful blue and if you add lemon or lime the citrus makes it turn purple or pink!! (She does not have a proper tea kettle and uses her coffee maker to steep)

Also, the pea pods are edible once they have matured. Eat them like beans!!

Dual use from a single plant that loves our fence!!

Come check out our garden at 730 Apricot Ave across the street from The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime

The loofahs are happy here! Join us every Saturday 8-11 during volunteer days and learn more!
