Cynthia’s latest project is a modern update to a classic Mediterranean residence in Scottsdale.

The goal was to keep the architectural character of the home while updating cabinetry, finishes, and lighting to suit how the family lives today. Over the coming weeks, Est Est Interior Design will share a closer look at several rooms from this project.

An outdoor shower earns its place in the desert 🌵

Stone, drainage, privacy, and sun exposure all had to be resolved before this became the detail it is now. Swipe through for a closer look.

Decisions, decisions 🪵

Choosing a stain for a mantle means testing it against the flooring, the cabinetry, and the light the room gets at different hours. The samples look similar on a bench and completely different on the wall.

A luxury home in Scottsdale is never built by one set of hands 🤝

Landscape, hardscape, cabinetry, and millwork partners all shape the finished result, and the design holds together because those trades are coordinated from the beginning instead of stacked at the end.

Brushing over the details is not something we know how to do 🖌️

Every finish, edge, and transition in a custom home is a decision someone has to make. We would rather make each one deliberately than let a room be assembled by default.

A day in this job is never one thing ✨

Showroom visits, material selections, site walks, and photography days all live inside the same week. This is what luxury interior design actually looks like between the before and the after.

The room, the setup, and the shot 🛋️

The main living area of this Scottsdale residence was designed for how the family gathers, then styled and photographed to hold that same feeling in a single frame.

The entrance sets the tone for everything past the door 🌿

Greenery, scale, and material at the front of a home introduce the palette a guest will read in every room that follows.

When the landscape and the interior are planned together, the transition from outside to inside feels like one continuous idea rather than two separate projects.
