The storm may pass—but tree hazards can remain.
Hurricanes and strong storms can snap limbs, split trunks, and uproot trees. Heavy rain saturates the soil, making it easier for high winds to topple trees—even ones that look healthy.
After a storm, watch for:
⚠️ New leaning or soil lifting around the roots
⚠️ Cracks in the trunk or major branches
⚠️ Broken limbs hanging overhead
Check from a safe distance. Keep people and pets away from damaged trees, and contact your utility company if power lines are involved.
