The girls and dad pushed hard, to get this floor done today. We had to install plywood underlayment before the v***r barrier. Also had fun pulling the dish washer so we could run the new floor clear back under it too.

Then dad is a bit perturbed as when he was transfering the trailer to the next job. He and a couple of cars in front of him pulled clear over till their tires were off the pavement so a combine could pass. But the guy hit dads truck mirror and broke the lights on it. And the trailer fender as well. With the trailer on dad couldn't turn around and chase the guy down when he just kept going.

Posting the 3 pictures of the finished deck that Aunt Kiery and Dad refurbished.
The back ordered railings came in. And Dad picked them up this morning. Took a couple hours to install them and the solar caps that the clients wanted.
It looks nice. And is now safe.

Kiery and dad put a few hours in on this deck today. They would have finished except the 8ft stair rails were back ordered. And the one bottom rail was damaged when dad opened it. We don't install damaged parts.
So we'll get those all installed when they come in.
Otherwise the project is completed.

Day two of this deck project.
Aunt Kiery got the rest of the water logged wood from the lower platform cut up and hauled around the house to the dumpster.
Dad was able to jack up and level the existing frame. Also he cut the stair horses and they installed them. He painted the sleeves that he bent to cover the holes where the old railings were fastened to the walls and Kiery slid them in place.
Then he cut decking while Kiery installed it. He also cut the material for the stair risers and treads.
Sadly rain is predicted all day tomorrow. So they will have to wrap it up Monday.

Dad and Kiery started another deck project today.
Today they did all of the demo. Just a little to carry up around to the dumpster in the morning.
Tomorrow Dad is going to raise the beam and level out the frame ready for new decking, cut the horses, and build the new stair system.
Kiery will be laying the new decking and screwing it down.

We are currently taking appointments to run estimates for remodels. If you have been thinking about updating or completely changing the look of your home, this is a good time to have us take a look. Here are a few projects we have had the pleasure of working on:

Aunt Kiery and Dad knocked out two jobs today.
They were both next to each other. One was to revitalize a small deck. And the other was to pull up four existing mailboxes. Build what Dad refers to as a hitching rail with five new boxes on it.
They accomplished both jobs in a day.

Pictures below.

The heat, unrelenting sun, and humidity just about kicked our butts on this latest deck job!
But Dad and Aunt Kiery got er done! Just had to adapt with more breaks, loads of cold liquids, and shorter days.
Today we wrapped up this good looking and solid deck job!
We had to double the number of joists and add a bunch of blocking before we could install the new decking.
We also rebuilt the front step of the house. Taking them from extremely dangerous to less steep and solid.
(From two existing horses and rocks to 7 solid horses with 6 1/2 inch risers and 11 inch treads )

Today had some showers. But we were able to work without heat/sun stroke.
Kiery and Dad were able to get the framing done to make this deck a safe one. They added more joists to be 16" on center. Then added blocking to cause all of the joists to work together.
It was interesting that some of the existing joists sagged more than an inch and a quarter. So they moved a couple around and sistered them together to level and strengthen them.
Also they worked to plumb up the remaining posts so the new railing will look right since we are using some of the existing posts as subposts.

A few photos from today.
