We just finished a roof replacement in Colchester, and the best part is the part you will never see.

New shingles are what everyone notices. But a roof is only as good as what goes under them.

On this one we took it down to the frame, laid brand-new decking edge to edge, and added two inches of insulation before a single shingle went on.

This is the three-season room that just ended its season, right on cue, the first cool week of fall.

Except this one does not close down anymore.

The addition in Jericho was built light years ago, the kind of room that was only good from June to September.

Another company said gut it and start over.

We looked closer and saw good bones worth saving.

We rebuilt it as a true four season room: real R value, the right glass, and a foundation that belongs on a Vermont home.
