You may have heard around town that the Winter Market was coming back to Sky for another year… (you may have even seen it posted on our website!😉) but we’re here to speak to the rumors, once and for all:

Sky Nursery is proud to once again be hosting the 2nd Annual Greenhouse Winter Market, on November 14th & 15th!!!

All year, we’ve been working with the amazing Shoreline Farmers Market team, planning, improving and making space for this event to return. This year, the market will feature OVER 80 carefully selected local artists, farmers, makers and more, plus a stacked list of local food vendors and live music!

Can you tell we’re excited? ☺️🥳

Same as last year, this market is meant to bring local community together, especially in support of our neighbors in need this holiday season. All vendor fees are going to support SFM & Hopelink, who will be at the market to collect food and cash donations (most needed items list to be posted soon). Hopelink provides essential services to Shoreline families, from food support and job training, to housing and beyond. This is THE chance for Sky’s amazing community of gardeners to represent!

Whether it’s your first time getting into mason bees or you want a refresh and some extra advice, local expert and teacher Ray Strelecki is here to help! The blue orchard mason bee is a fascinating native pollinator and a cornerstone of our ecosystem, especially when it comes to fruit trees. This workshop will cover important info on how best to tuck mason bee larvae in for the winter, so you can minimize the damaging three M’s: mold, mildew and mites. Learn from Ray’s decades of experience and enjoy thriving bees next spring.

Look at this gorgeous pathway made by students from the last mosaic class at Sky! 😍

Perhaps the best bit is that many folks walk into this class having NEVER worked with glass before. For the last few years, we’ve watched Bridget & Majken do an amazing job of turning mosaic beginners into confident, capable pros.

If you fancy yourself a few hours spent in creative flow that results in a beautiful, long-lasting piece of art, you can still join us! There’s space in our classes on September 19th and October 18th. :) We’d love to see you there.

We are just ONE WEEK (and about 11 minutes) out from the start of the very first Ikebana show hosted at Sky Nursery. The list of demonstrators has officially been published, and has us so excited to dive deeper into the world and history of Japanese floral design.
