Thanksgiving is five weeks out. Christmas and the whole stretch of winter hosting is right behind it. If your rug has been quietly collecting a year of life, right now is the window to send it in.

Here is the honest timing math. A proper full-immersion hand wash at our Shrewsbury facility takes about 7 to 14 days from the moment we pick it up to the moment we bring it back. That includes pre-cleaning inspection, colorfastness testing, dusting out dry soil, the actual cold-water wash with wool-safe shampoo, controlled-environment drying, grooming, and a final inspection before it comes home.

Book this week, and your rug is on the floor before Thanksgiving guests arrive. Book the week of Thanksgiving, and you are entertaining on bare floor through most of the holiday season.

What the holidays actually put on a rug:

- Red w**e, cranberry sauce, gravy, coffee, chocolate
- Pumpkin pie that somehow lands pumpkin-side down
- Mud, salt, and sand tracked in from the driveway
- Pet accidents from a dog whose routine just got disrupted
- A full year of dust and dander deep in the foundation that only a true wash can lift

We hand-wash wool rugs, silk rugs, cotton rugs, antique Persians, Oriental and tribal pieces, and modern machine-made rugs. Every rug gets individual attention from our in-house team. We never subcontract the work.

Free pickup and delivery within 10 miles of Shrewsbury. Serving Worcester, Westborough, Northborough, Grafton, Marlborough, Framingham, Natick, and all of MetroWest and Central Massachusetts. Family-owned since 1990.

Green is having a real moment in interiors right now, and honestly, it has been building for a while.

We have watched customers walk in over the last two years asking for green in every shade you can name. Some want emerald with warm brass. Some want deep olive against terracotta and rust. Others come in for sage to soften a mid-century room, or forest to sit under a Victorian sofa. The requests keep coming, and so do the rugs.

Here is why a green rug works so well in almost any room. Green is a natural color. Your eye reads it the way it reads a mossy stone wall or a forest floor. It grounds a space without shouting. It plays beautifully with warm wood tones, brass, leather, cream linens, terracotta, and deeper jewel tones. It flatters antique furniture and modern pieces equally well.

Our green collection in the showroom includes:

Handmade Kazak weaves in deep olive with rust and cream medallions
Sultanabad-style hand-knotted pieces in emerald with soft floral fields
Sage and moss tribal designs with strong geometry and room to breathe
Machine-made palm leaf and botanical patterns for a lighter contemporary look
Antique-inspired distressed greens for rooms that want a lived-in feel

All hand-knotted pieces are made by weavers in Persia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, and Turkey. Our machine-made options give you a similar look at a friendlier price. Sizes run from 2'x3' scatter rugs up to 12'x15' oversized, with runners and rounds available too.

Come see the whole collection at our 8,000 square foot showroom on Route 9 East in Shrewsbury. It is the largest rug gallery in Worcester County and worth the drive from Worcester, Westborough, Framingham, or anywhere else in MetroWest.

Woven by hand. Composed by memory. Made in the mountains of southern Iran.

This is a Persian Gabbeh. 5'10" x 8'7". 100% hand-carded wool. Hand-knotted by weavers in the Zagros mountains of southern Iran, working in one of the oldest continuous weaving traditions in the world.

A short lesson on why a Persian Gabbeh is unlike any other rug you have ever seen.

The word "Gabbeh" means natural, raw, or unfinished in Persian. It refers to a way of weaving that predates every formal rug workshop in Persia. Gabbeh weaving originates with the nomadic Qashqai and Lori tribes of the Zagros mountains, who wove rugs for their own tents and daily life long before Persian rugs became known to the wider world. Gabbeh weavers do not work from pattern grids the way city weavers do. They compose the entire rug freehand as they weave, drawing images from the world around them and from generations of tribal design memory.

The imagery on this piece is Gabbeh in its purest form. Tree of life motifs in ivory, coral, gold, and sage scattered across a deep navy field. Small stylized shapes anchoring each corner. A wide saffron-gold border carrying the same tribal vocabulary around the entire rug. The composition is asymmetrical, personal, and completely one of a kind. No other Gabbeh in the world has this exact arrangement.

Details of this piece:

✔️ 5'10" x 8'7" size, well suited for smaller living rooms, sunrooms, studies, home offices, and bedrooms
✔️ 100% hand-carded wool pile with the natural depth and softness that only hand-carded wool provides
✔️ Deep navy field with tree of life imagery in ivory, coral, gold, and sage
✔️ Wide saffron-gold border framed by tribal guard stripes
✔️ Hand-knotted freehand by a Persian Gabbeh weaver in the Zagros tradition
✔️ Truly one of a kind

Look at what the rug does in the room shown. Mid-century wood chair. Mustard velvet sofa. Woven jute pouf. A fiddle-leaf fig catching afternoon light through the windows. Every element in the room supports the rug, and the rug pulls every color story back to itself. The saffron border echoes the velvet sofa. The deep navy grounds the whole floor plane. The coral and ivory accents lift the room without disrupting its calm.

Persian Gabbehs work in bright, plant-filled rooms. Warm mid-century interiors. Moody bedrooms with layered textiles. Studies with vintage leather and shelves of books. Anywhere the room has enough space to breathe around a piece with real personality.

Everything we do, we do here. All under one roof on Route 9 East in Shrewsbury since 1990.

A lot of people do not realize that most rug stores do not actually do rug work. They sell rugs and ship cleaning out. They sell rugs and ship repair out. The customer never knows.

We built the gallery the opposite way. If you walk into our 8,000 square foot showroom in Shrewsbury on any given day, you will see rugs for sale, you will see rugs waiting for repair, and you will see rugs drying from a wash. All in one building. All handled by our in-house team.

Here is what you are watching in this reel:

The front of the gallery at 370 Boston Turnpike, with the rolls you see in the window
The main aisle, lined with hundreds of rugs in stock from 2'x3' scatter sizes up to 12'x15' oversized
A close-up of hand-repair work. Scissors, yellow thread, decades of training. This is how fringe gets re-attached, how worn pile gets rebuilt, how a hole gets re-knotted into a rug so you cannot find the spot
Stacks of fine rugs waiting for their next home, with a silk piece hanging behind
The wash. Full-immersion, cold water, wool-safe shampoo. The way these rugs were meant to be cleaned

Thirty-five years in, we are still a family business. Michael is here most days. Our weavers and washers have been with us for years. The customers who walked in during the 1990s now bring their grown kids in to pick out their first rug.

Come see all of it in person. Free pickup and delivery within 10 miles if you have a rug that needs service. Free shipping across the USA if you shop online.
