Okay, but the laundry hampers in this bathroom? We had a big bank of cabinets to work with, and made the storage pull its weight. Enough separation to keep the “colors vs. whites” argument contained to the laundry room.

And yes, that’s real stained white oak. Designed by Steve McKenzie of McKenzie Designs in Atlanta. We had a pretty good time with this one.

This ain’t your average butcher block. We made this one for the showroom, but honestly, we could see it looking pretty damn good in a kitchen too. It’s got that old-school character that only gets better once it starts getting used.

There’s just something about white oak. It’s warm, it’s got a ton of character, and it works really well in a kitchen without trying too hard. This one turned out pretty good. The grain, the color, the whole thing just works.
