I’ve been wanting to give our Article sofa a subtle refresh, and these Otto 100 spherical furniture legs from were the perfect detail my living room needed. The Otto is made of ash wood and comes in 10 different finishes, I selected the walnut finish to complement our chocolate full-aniline Italian leather.

I used five legs in total (because one is necessary in the middle for support) with the universal fitting plates, and it’s actually so quick and easy! The universal fitting plates make it simple, because it doesn’t matter what size of hanger bolt your furniture piece originally used, the fitting plate just screw into the wood bottom of your furniture piece and the Otto screws perfectly on!

The Otto 100 works great for cabinets, beds, sofas, dressers, tv stands and chairs. However, Pretty Pegs has a huge variety of legs and even k***s and pulls for all types of furniture!

This is honestly just a simple way to change the look of a piece you already own without investing in an entirely new sofa.
I love the idea of working with what you already have and finding little ways to make it fit your style!

In true October spirit, I had to bring back this little ghost decor DIY! 👻

Ready to get in the spooky mood? This simple and easy fall craft uses minimal supplies and doesn’t take much time to make! It looks sleek and modern and brings a cozy, warm glow during spooky season.

Grab some air dry clay from any craft store, I used Crayola’s air dry clay.

Roll a large chunk of clay flat (on top of a large piece of Glad Cling Wrap) as if rolling out cookie dough.

Next, tape a small ball to the top of an upside down red Solo Cup. Cover this drying stand with some Glad Cling Wrap to avoid your ghost from sticking while it dries!

Cut the perimeter of your flattened clay into an (imperfect) circular shape.

Then lift the clay circle by the Glad Cling Wrap underneath and gently drape it over your solo cup drying stand. Gently press clay down around cup, creating drape like curves.

Puncture three holes for eyes and a mouth using a straw (use your creative freedom to give the ghost its own personality).

Wait 2-3 days for air dry clay to fully dry. Gently lift ghost off the stand. Leave your ghost with an organic clay finish or customize it with paint.

Find a cute place to display your ghost & place a battery operated tea light candle underneath (opt for a battery operated candle to avoid overheating the clay with a real flame, I linked my favorite ones)!

Don’t toss it, just fix it! This wood furniture repair kit worked surprisingly well on my veneer bookcase!

Whether you wish you had a better sofa, or you have the sofa of your dreams, there are many ways to make your sofa look more elevated. There are a few different components that go into helping your sofa look more curated, cozy and high end.

Area Rug Size & Placement

Both the size and placement of an area rug under a sofa are important for maintaining a high-end, styled look. Too large or too small of a rug under a sofa can make a room feel unbalanced.

Throw Pillows

Throw blankets and pillows can enhance the overall vibe of your sofa, making it feel more cozy and inviting. Additionally, they are a great way to incorporate pattern and texture into your space.

Side Table

Typically the rule of thumb for a side table next to your sofa is one that is just slightly shorter in height than the arm of the sofa. Add a lamp, sculptural object, vase or plant!

Art & Lighting

To maintain scale around your sofa, it’s important to select large enough art and also the right height of lamp (if it will be sitting directly next to the sofa).

You could of course put a table lamp on your side table next to the sofa (pro tip- select a lamp that is at least 1/3 the width of the side table). If you choose to only have a side table on one side of the sofa, the other side of the sofa could have a floor lamp in place of a table. Additionally, wall sconces can be placed on either side of art above the sofa or even above an art piece to illuminate it.

Throw Blanket

For a more modern look, I prefer to place my throw blankets in a blanket basket next to or adjacent the sofa, but here are 3 more ways to style your throw!

1. Fold blanket into thirds lengthwise and drape it straight form the back down the front of the sofa. Be sure to execute this drape off to one side or another, not centered.

2. Toss your blanket at an angle from the top corner of one sofa side in a perfectly imperfect fashion until it looks inviting.

3. Sectionals have an addition option. You can fold neatly or casually fold the throw blanket over the foot area of the sectional.
