The number and types of pollinators on my Goldenrod are insane!! Clearly, they do not care that this is a cultivar.

'Solar Cascade' is a gracefully arching goldenrod that gets about 3 - 5 feet depending on soil. It does spread, but I don't find it to be too aggressive. It's such a bright yellow. And paired with orange marigold is such a fantastic combination!

It's Turtlehead time!! These are great for average to damp areas.

This absolute unit of a mushroom is growing in my yard!! Do you think I could eat it??? I could feed the whole neighborhood with these - crazy!

I need to learn more about foraging for mushrooms, I have so many different ones growing on our property.... I'm just so afraid I'll mis-identify them - yikes!

It has been an incredible summer for butterflies at the nursery. I have 6 Eastern Tiger Swallowtails hanging around my JPW everyday. Plus Spicebush and Black Swallowtails, and some skippers, too!

I have seen Monarchs almost everyday, but they are so hard to photograph! I was able to catch this guy hanging around my Blue Mist Flower (Conoclinium coelestinum) for several hours. If you need to fill in an area, highly recommend Blue Mist Flower. It can be a bit aggressive, but you know, right plant / right place!

Looking for a tall plant that can fill-up a space? Cup Plant (Silphium perfoliatum) is exactly what you're looking for. Super cute daisy-like flowers that are visited by pollinators and then later, by birds. But what's most interesting about this plant are its joined leaves that form a little 'cup' and holds rain water so that pollinators can have a little drink.

Unfortunately, they are not deer resistant. Had to keep mine behind the fence. They do tolerate a fair bit of shade, though. They could work well in a rain garden or back of a pollinator border garden. Mine grew about 5 feet tall, but supposedly they can get taller.
