The basement you actually want to spend October in. 🍂🔥

Football Sundays. Halloween movie marathons. The kids finally having somewhere to go that isn't your living room.

A finished basement pays off differently in fall and winter than any other time of year. And LVP is the go-to choice down there for good reason: it handles moisture, looks great, and stands up to the kind of heavy use a family hangout space gets.

If your basement project has been sitting on the back burner, October is the month to make it happen. Come in this week and let's get you started. 🤝

The guest room is ready. Is yours? 🏡🍂

October means the holidays are closer than they feel. Family visits, long weekends, overnight guests who deserve more than a pull-out couch.

A thoughtfully done guest room starts with the floor. Warm wood tones like these create an instant sense of welcome that no amount of decorative pillows can fully replace on their own.

If getting your guest room ready before the holiday rush has been on your list, now is the time to make it happen. Come in and let's talk through your options. 🤝

October bedroom checklist:

✅ Swap to the heavy duvet
✅ Add approximately 47 throw pillows
✅ Put a pumpkin somewhere near the bed for reasons
✅ Pretend you'll actually use that decorative blanket ladder
✅ Call it done and refuse to leave this room until April

The floors, however, were already perfect. Some things don't need a seasonal update. 😂

What's the first thing you swap out in your bedroom when fall hits? 🎃

One of the best things you can do for your hardwood floors heading into fall and winter? Control the humidity in your home. 🌡️

Here's why it matters:

🪵 Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with moisture levels. Low winter humidity, especially once the heat kicks on, can cause planks to shrink and gaps to form between them.

💧 The ideal indoor humidity level for hardwood floors is between 35 and 55 percent.

🌬️ Running a humidifier in the colder months can make a real difference in how your floors look and perform over time.

🧹 Avoid wet mopping hardwood in any season. A slightly damp mop or a hardwood-specific cleaner is all you need.

A little seasonal care goes a long way with hardwood. 💡

The fireplace is on. The room is full. And the floors are doing exactly what they were meant to do. 🔥🏡

There's a reason certain rooms feel like the heart of the home in October. High ceilings, warm light, a fire going, and carpet that makes every step feel deliberate and soft. It all adds up to something that's more than just a good-looking space. It's the room people gravitate toward.

Flooring is the foundation of that feeling. It sets the tone, absorbs the sound, and anchors everything above it.

Did you know the color of your kitchen floor can actually affect how hungry you feel? 🤔

Color psychology in interior design is real, and floors play a bigger role than most people think.

🌿 Warm wood tones like this honey oak are associated with comfort, appetite, and a welcoming atmosphere. No coincidence that so many great kitchens use them.

❄️ Very cool or stark floors can make a kitchen feel clinical and less inviting, even when everything else is beautifully designed.

🍂 Earthy, natural tones in particular have been shown to make people feel more relaxed and at ease in a space.

Your kitchen floor sets the emotional temperature of the room before anyone even starts cooking. Something worth thinking about. 💡

October is prime time for kitchen projects, and one question we hear a lot is: what floor actually holds up in a kitchen long term? 🤔

Here's what matters most in this room specifically:

🍳 Comfort underfoot. You stand here for long stretches. Materials with a little give, like LVP or cushioned tile, make a real difference over time.

💧 True waterproofing. Kitchens see spills constantly. Water resistant is not the same as waterproof. Know which you're getting before you buy.

🌡️ Stability. Kitchens experience heat, humidity, and temperature changes. Materials that expand and contract significantly can cause problems over time.

🧹 Ease of cleaning. Grout lines, texture, and finish all affect how easy the floor is to maintain day to day.

Fall is the season that finally gives you permission to go deep and rich with your interiors. 🍂🌿

A jewel-toned chair. A vintage rug with history in every thread. Warm wood floors visible just at the edges, grounding the whole composition.

This is what layering looks like when it's done with intention. And the secret is that the floors don't have to be the showstopper. Sometimes their job is to be the quiet backdrop that makes everything else look like it belongs.

If you've been thinking about a sitting room, reading corner, or formal living refresh this fall, October is the time. 🍁

10/02/2026

There is something deeply satisfying about a room that leans all the way into the season. Warm textures, earthy tones, the kind of layering that makes you want to cancel your plans and stay right here. 🍂

The light herringbone floors in this space do exactly what a great floor should do. They let everything on top of them shine without competing. The rug, the furniture, the seasonal touches, all of it reads as intentional because the foundation is solid.

What's your fall decorating style? Bold and cozy or minimal and warm? 🧡
