For those who purchased one of our baby Cape Sundews last month. I know you asked me all the questions. I know I answered all the questions. I also know you've slept since then.

Here's a link to basic care instructions.

Thanks for carrying on while I kept meaning to get this up on the website. Let's all hope I can do better when the other sundews and the Nepenthes and Butterworts are ready for sale..........

Native to South Africa (USDA Zone 10a equivalent), Cape Sundews (Drosera capensis) thrive indoors in Tennessee. They can be kept outdoors during warmer months but must be brought inside before the first frost. Watering Keep the soil constantly moist by sitting the base of the pot in ½ to 1 inch of

In other news: it looks like we have a logo!

You may or may not have seen the custom quilted banner that was given to me recently. It planted a seed that grew into a cool design by Zayne Geisler. The logo is already on our website and will soon be appearing in print on the instructions cards for our carnivorous plant treats.

And if you’re in the market for graphic design work, I can put you in touch with Zayne or you can email them at [email protected] .

Being miserable is boring.

Make more time for the things that bring you joy.

For all the folks who were captivated by the Cape Sundews at my last two vending events, here’s the last of the babies and a big boy in their own little feature short.

And yes, there are more of these guys in the works as well as other sundew species. I’m also working on some nepenthes and some butterworts. Hoping to have some beginner friendly species of both in late winter/early spring 2027.

Another new leaf!

Thought I would share this pink/orange variegated melanochrysum’s growth since I have the pictures. I received it as an import on September 8th. It was looking a bit rough at the time but mostly I was disappointed in the color and variegation. It’s taken a while to settle in and start growing but the new leaves have me much more enthusiastic.

It’s about to outgrow the temporary holding dome and I still haven’t decided on a more permanent solution. This is what happens when another random rare plant captures your heart. I know my people understand the struggle. 🫠

We still have a few baby Cape Sundews left. These carnivorous plants love to catch fruit flies and fungus gnats! They’ll be with us on Friday at the Dark Market: Haunting of Hi-Wire in Knoxville. Make plans to swing by and say Hi!
