Is your refrigerator ice maker or water dispenser suddenly acting up or completely dead? 🚰
Take a look at this recent job! The homeowner was getting zero water to their fridge. The culprit? A classic saddle valve (as seen in the "Before" photo). ❌
While saddle valves used to be a quick, go-to method for tapping into a water line, they are notorious for failing over time. Because they work by piercing a tiny hole directly into the copper pipe, that small opening becomes a prime target for calcium and mineral buildup. Over time, hard water completely chokes off the flow, leaving you with no ice and no water. Plus, they are prone to leaking! 💧⚠️
The Fix: I cut out the old section, tee’d into the copper line properly, and installed a reliable, heavy-duty 1/4-turn ball valve (as seen in the "After" photo). 🚰✅
Now, the water flow is completely restored, it's built to last, and there's a reliable, leak-free shutoff ready to go if they ever need it! 💯🎉
If your fridge water dispenser is slowing down to a trickle, or if you know you have one of these ticking time-bomb saddle valves hiding under your sink or in your basement, let’s get it fixed the right way! 💪🏡
