Today we inspected a home where the previous insulation contractor either lacked so much experience and basic knowledge they just didn't know how wrong this install is, or worse they just didn't care taking the money and running after installing open cell foam in this crawlspace. Regardless of which version describes the contractor who did this it's the homeowner's left holding the bag on a home with a rotted out subfloor and a crawlspace full of moldy wet insulation. Let this serve as a stark example of why it's imperative to hire reputable contractors with character, integrity and know how when it comes to where building science and your home's thermal performance intersect. Because unfortunately we are called out to inspect jobs just like this one far too often.

Georgetown Youth Soccer Association got some quality insulation installed in their new meeting room and every parent volunteer working the concession stand will be happy to know it will feel a lot less like standing in a microwave moving forward as we went ahead and installed insulation in the roof deck above there also! We’re honored to have the opportunity to give back in the same community we grew up in and are raising our own kids in.
