After careful consideration, we've made the difficult decision to close our Ruckersville store at the end of the month. Our Timberville, Bridgewater, and Mount Jackson stores are open and will stay open, ready to help with your next project.
We’ll miss Greene County and are so grateful to everyone who shopped with us there.

Is your chainsaw trying to tell you something?

Chainsaws usually drop a few hints before they give out on you. Here are some signs yours might be ready for a little TLC:

It’s a bear to start. If you’re pulling that cord over and over (and getting a workout you didn’t sign up for), something’s off.
It stalls or idles rough. Sputtering, dying when you let off the throttle, or a chain that creeps while idling are all signs it needs attention.
It’s lost its get-up-and-go. If it bogs down in wood it used to breeze through, it’s time for a check-up.
It’s smoking more than usual. A little puff is normal, but a big cloud can mean trouble with the fuel mix, carburetor, or air filter.
It’s making sawdust instead of chips. A sharp chain throws nice chips. Fine dust means your chain is dull.
It’s running hot or leaking. Keep an eye out for fuel or oil leaks, or a bar that’s smoking because it isn’t getting enough oil.

With firewood season here, now’s the perfect time to get your saw in good shape before the work piles up.

And here’s some good news: our wait times for STIHL equipment service and repair are very quick right now! Bring your saw by, and our folks will get it purring again in no time.

Here are 3 things we think every home should have this season, and all three are on sale this month at every Randy's Hardware.

1️⃣ Botanical rodent repellent: Those little critters start looking for a warm place to stay when the weather cools. This plant-based formula helps keep them out of your garage, shed, and attic, and it's safe around your pets and kids.

2️⃣ 10-year battery smoke alarm: No more midnight chirping, and no more digging out the step stool to swap batteries. Put it up once and you're set for 10 years.

3️⃣ Portable, rechargeable fire extinguisher: It's small enough to keep in the kitchen, garage, or truck, and you can recharge it. We hope you never need it, but it's good to have it close.

Stop by Timberville, Bridgewater, Mount Jackson, or Ruckersville and we'll help you pick out what you need. Save this reel so you remember on your next trip in!

If you grill, check your brush today. Walmart's Expert Grill grill brushes, sold between January 2021 and August 2026, have been recalled because the metal bristles can come loose and end up in food. Stop using the brush and throw it out. Walmart is offering a full refund or store credit, and the details are on the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall page at cpsc.gov.

Need a safe replacement? Visit Randy's Hardware in Timberville, Bridgewater, Mount Jackson, or Ruckersville. We'll help you find a bristle-free grill cleaner, so your next cookout is safe.

Share this with anyone who grills.

Brasso is on trial.

Brasso claims its non-abrasive formula removes tarnish, grime, and oxidation without scratching the surface underneath. Big claims. So we put it to the test on a vintage brass floor lamp that soap and water couldn't save.

The verdict? Not guilty. The lamp came out looking like new, with no scratches and very little elbow grease. One note for the record: skip textured surfaces like barbell knurling, because the polish likes to settle into the grooves.

Now we need your help. What product should we put on trial next? Tell us in the comments! 👇
