To all my OWE clients and friends,
I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the senseless violence that ruined one of Toledo's great traditions. Thankfully my family and myself had already left, but a mere 2 hours before the shooting we were standing in the arboretum in the exact spot where everything happened. I cannot imagine what it was like to be there while the violence was happening.
I am not here to offer any profound insights or solutions. I am here to offer my support and say very strongly that my attitude towards the OWE has not and will never change. I am very proud to have so many clients in that beautiful neighborhood, and am extremely proud of the work I have done on those amazing houses. I am honored that the neighborhood has a high opinion of my work, and have every intention of continuing to work in the OWE. Two idiots with guns isn't enough to keep me away, and this tragedy will never define the OWE for me.
My only request is that the comments on this post reflect only support for the neighborhood. If you want to debate guns, politics, policing, city leadership, or any other aspect of this tragedy please go ahead and make your own post.
I would finally just like to thank everyone who makes the OWE so wonderfully unique and special. I am no less comfortable working there today than I was on Saturday. If we have a project booked it is still on! If you need work I'm still available! The neighborhood will outlive this tragedy, and I intend on continuing my part to make sure that happens.
