It's “John Dale” day. One year ago, on a Friday morning, John did not wake up to complete one of his favorite parts of the week: delivering paychecks to five or six different locations in three different counties. That was his time to touch base with employees personally and thank them for the great job they did. I would always offer and plead, “Just let me do this; it’s one thing I can do to help you!” He never let me, employees were more than that; they were precious and important to him. So this morning, we went to as many locations as we could and personally thanked them not only for doing a great job at Texas Timber over the last year without John but also thanked them for the unwavering “off the clock” check-ins, laughs, cries, car fixes on the side of I-45, home fixes, furniture moving, and all the other things.
