When we designed our WFH Desk, we needed a material that ticked some pretty important boxes.
It had to be strong and stable. Our desks slot together without tools, so the pieces need to fit properly, every time. They also need to come apart, go back together and be rearranged as people’s working needs change.
It had to stand up to years of use, too. We’re not interested in making furniture that needs replacing every few years.
And then there was the other important bit. We wanted something that looked beautiful in our own homes. Something with natural character, lovely details and an exposed edge that was worth looking at.
That’s why we chose 3/4” Baltic Birch plywood. With its 13 layers of birch, it gives us the strength, stability and natural finish we wanted.
It wasn’t just a material that would work for the design. It was the material that brought the whole idea together.
Six years on from making our first desk, we’re still hearing from some of our very first customers.
That’s something we’re pretty happy about.
