Not only was this job a beast, especially for the first big job after the brain hemmorage, but the customers were the worst customers I've had in the 5 years in business and after already discontinued them $2000 dollars due to my back going out mid job and supply issues on both sides delaying completion (and that was after dropping my initial estimate by $800 because that's "all they could afford") Then they turned around and bought a $1600 Amazon shower system when they were supposed to pick a standard dieter and up too two or three output system. So I had to tell them I wouldn't install it and the wife threw a SCREAMING, threatening, insulting, and throwing stuff around her bedroom tantrum when I told them there would be an added cost for a plumber with this 15 pc system they bought. After spending 30 min in that environment, I packed my tools and left mid job and told the husband I would not work in a hostile environment like that. So then she started harassing me reposted calling from multiple numbers telling me that I needed to give them the $5000 deposit back, even though I had bought ALL the supplies and done the demo and rebuild to where I was ready to start tiling. But after discounting them the $2000, they still refused to pay me the other $2000 they owed me upon completion because I wouldn't install the toilet, vanity, and medicine cabinet FOR FREE. Oh, they also put in a complaint against me to the BBB. Another first!
So... despite what I think is a great job with a whole lot of 6.5" tile, guess I get to take my first customers to small claims court! Hopefully it's the last time too!
