English Transferware - Nancy's Daily Dish Offering one of the largest collections of 19th & 20th century English transferware on the web www.n I think of them and I smile.

I am an online shop owner, decorator and collector specializing in and offering for sale one of the largest collections of 19th and 20th Century English transferware in the world. I love the history and art found in each piece I buy and sell. I've worked with designers, national publications, celebrity chef owned restaurants and clients all over the world creating custom wallscapes, transferware displays, table settings and decorating / styling their homes. I absolutely love what I do, selling English Transferware at nancysdailydish.net and authoring the blog Nancy's Daily Dish where I write educational posts on the subject, create tablescapes with different transfer ware patterns sharing the histories behind them, and share my love of design, cooking, poetry and appreciation of beautiful things. After 34 years of marriage I am still crazy in love with my husband, the six children and one grandchild we have. Thank you for visiting me here on Facebook!

A rich, autumnal palette of deep lacquered red sets the stage for this custom built-in, designed to beautifully showcase a treasured collection of brown transferware. Finished with seasonal florals, trailing ivy, and natural pheasant feathers, it’s a celebration of timeless craftsmanship and the beauty of the season. “To everything there is a season…” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 🍂

🍂 FRIDAY FINDS | A Little Autumn in the Hutch 🍁

Well, Tulsa FINALLY decided to give us some autumn weather, and I am absolutely loving it! 🍂 Crisp mornings, cooler temperatures, and all those cozy fall feelings have me wanting to tuck a little autumn charm into every corner of the house!

This week’s Friday Finds are all about woodland treasures, antique transferware, and a little English cottage charm! 🦊🦌🐇

How darling is this set of four vintage woodland shot glasses? Featuring a rabbit, grouse, stag, and fox, they’re sold as a set and couldn’t be more perfect for fall decorating or a collected cottage-style home. I especially love them with tiny sprigs of ivy or autumn flowers tucked inside. Who says shot glasses can’t be miniature flower vases? 🌼

I’ve also just added lots of beautiful antique transferware plates to the website, along with some lovely pieces from the Rural Scenes collection. Think charming English countryside scenes, warm autumn colors, and all the wonderful old-world character that makes vintage china so special.

There’s just something about mixing antique treasures, seasonal flowers, and a few woodland touches that makes a home feel extra cozy and collected this time of year. And you know I believe there’s always room for one more pretty plate! 😉

🍁 Happy Friday Finds, friends! Come have a peek at what’s new at Nancy’s Daily Dish!

✈️🇲🇽 We just got back from an incredible family vacation to Mexico! While we missed Jonah and Ethan and their families who couldn’t make it this time, the trip left us feeling so inspired to do another big trip like this again. I so loved seeing most of my@kids together.
When we got home, it got me looking closer at this stunning antique plate from my collection, and the history behind it is fascinating!
This is a mid-19th-century purple transferware plate in the “Mexican” pattern. While you might expect a piece like this to come from Mexico, it was actually manufactured thousands of miles away in Scotland by John Lockhart at the Kirkcaldy Pottery (circa 1840s–1860s)!
During the mid-1800s, there was a massive global fascination with Mexican and North American landscapes, sparked by major historical events of the era. British and Scottish potters capitalized on this trend by creating “romanticized” scenic transferware to export all over the world.
It’s amazing how a piece of Scottish pottery from over 160 years ago can capture the spirit of a place we just fell in love with as a family. A perfect little reminder of our travels! 💜🏺I have two, one is listed on my website.

Adding a few sprigs of Autumn foliage here and there. The antique silver trophy cup is a new addition to my website but I enjoy displaying items in my home until they find their forever homes.

Good to be back home.

Deuteronomy 28:6 (KJV) — “Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.”

Especially meaningful after traveling and arriving safely back home.

My trip to Urgent care on our 40th wedding anniversary tuned into an ER visit turned into a several day hospital stay turned into my birthday and a trip to Mexico the next day. Nothing makes me happier than being able to spend time with and see my kids having a great time together.
I will get back to regular posting next week!
