Celebrating our reuse artisans: Marcis Curtis is a multi-media artists who works as a carpenter and home inspector throughout Maine. He's interested in the overlooked, in the immaculate engineering that nature and humanity have both wrought through such vastly different paths.
His past work has been shown in multiple galleries across St. Louis, MO where he lived for almost a decade and co-founded a carpentry cooperative called Citizen Carpentry before returning home to Maine in 2020. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture as well as various private collections.
In his free time Marcis enjoys singing and rowing with the Atlantic Challenge in Belfast, as well as taking his dog Ripley anywhere she wants to go.
Check out some of Marcis's works currently on display in the Radical Reuse Center, and consider taking one home!
