My return to creating, after a long absence, occurred after my retirement from education. What drew me back was creating in the abstract. I played around with mixed media techniques, which are still my favorite. Then I delved into textured abstracts. I created on small canvases, then larger, then multiple canvases intended to be displayed together. I am yearning to return to those techniques, colors, and textures. Stay tuned. Have you played with Roycycled Treasures masterboard decoupage papers? I created 2 sets of coasters using Royce's Christmas Flock masterboard. There are so many wonderful images, of various sizes, on this sheet. What I love about this paper is that there are layered images already created like those on the set of 4 coasters. Then there are images like the birds and black-edged images that I can add to other papers ("Christmas Wallpaper") on the set of 2 coasters.
The coasters and decoupage papers are all available at Brooklawn Creations on Etsy! Next day shipping (and a 10% through the end of October).
