Not all buildings are brand new.

With colder weather ahead, it’s a good time to check your commercial property’s exterior lighting, keep customer and employee entrances clear, and address small repairs before winter makes them more difficult.

A little attention now can help keep your building ready for business throughout the winter.

Hey Friends! Sorry for not posting earlier—we were pretty wrapped up in the build! 🐾

Team ECI, supervised by Mr. Woo, had a great day at Raise the Woof! This year’s design was inspired by the Urbana Park District’s live-edge black locust trail build-out at Busey Woods. We used reclaimed cedar donated by Miller Farms Barn Wedding Venue to create our live-edge doghouse. Jon went the extra mile, using leftover materials to build a beautiful birdhouse to go with it.

We also brought home the Team Spirit Award AND the Builders Award! We’re especially grateful for the Builders Award because it was voted on by the other doghouse builders at the event. That recognition means a lot to our team. 💙

Thank you to Miller Farms for the cedar and to everyone who stopped by to cheer us on. ECI is proud to support Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s build!

🐾 Come Raise the Woof with us this Saturday! 🔨

One of our favorite events of the year is almost here! Raise the Woof is a pet-house building event benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County and its work to provide safe, decent and affordable housing for local families. Habitat For Humanity Champaign

ECI will be there on Saturday, October 10, putting our construction skills to work on a slightly smaller scale. 😉 We’ll be building our entry on-site alongside other local teams — and yes, there’s a little friendly competition involved!

We’ve been keeping our design under wraps, so you’ll have to come out and see what we’re building this year. 🐶🏠

Come see us, check out all of the builds, and support Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County!

🔥 Fire Prevention Week | October 4–10

Fire prevention is another part of making sure everyone goes home safe.

Temporary power, hot work, equipment, and combustible materials can all create fire hazards if they aren’t properly managed. Good housekeeping, proper storage, accessible fire extinguishers, and paying attention to the details can make a big difference.

Because the best way to respond to a fire is to help prevent one in the first place.

If it can be done, it can be done safely.

🐾 A message from Mr. Woo…

Mr. Woo recently realized that Raise the Woof is in October this year, and apparently he has some opinions about the team uniform.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, he suggested Team ECI add a little pink to our Raise the Woof attire. 💗

We think he wears it pretty well.

As for this year’s doghouse? Mr. Woo has reviewed the plans, inspected the progress, and has decided we’re not ready for the big reveal just yet. 👀🔨

You’ll have to wait a little longer for that one…

Today, 9/25, is unofficially Dolly Parton Day — and we’re here for it. 💗📚

From supporting education and healthcare to helping communities in times of need, Dolly Parton has used her success to give back in a big way.

One of her most incredible contributions is the Imagination Library, which has put more than 300 million books into the hands of children around the world — helping kids build a love of reading from an early age.

That’s a pretty incredible legacy.

Happy Dolly Parton Day! ✨

🍂 Hello, Fall!

A new season is here, but construction season is still going strong.

We’re making progress across Central Illinois and looking forward to some cooler days, changing colors, and plenty more getting done this fall.
