As the weather starts to cool down here in Riverside, now's the perfect time to get your lawn and landscape ready for the dormant season. A few tips from our team at Arborscape:

✂️ Cut back your roses and shrubs. Once it cools off, trimming back roses and shrubs helps your plants prepare for winter dormancy.

🌱 Switch your fertilizer. Look for a blend with potassium — we recommend a 16-8-6 — to help your root systems stay strong through the cold months.

🌸 Save this tip for spring: When the warmer weather returns, follow up with a 21-0-0 fertilizer. The nitrogen is what gives your lawn that deep, healthy green everyone notices.

Helpful Hints for the homeowners..
Need start preparing for the fall and winter season. Once is cools down we must start cutting back our plants for the dormant season . Cutting all-out roses, shrubs. Using a good grade of fertilizer with some potassium for the cold of the winter. Potassium is good to build the strength of your root system also. A good grade of fertilizer to use now would be a 16-8-6. You can follow up at Spring with a 21-0-0. All you need is nitrogen to green up your lawn with the beautiful dark green of your grass.
