This is the part of a garage conversion most people never see. Before this space can become a comfortable room, it needs a real floor. Our crew laid a v***r barrier over the ground, framed new floor joists on metal hangers, and set rebar where the old garage door opening will become a solid wall. The same room, the same beam, and a completely different feel. The before photo shows where this space started: textured ceilings, worn floors and a closed-off layout. We took out the texture, laid wide-plank light oak floors and stained the original beam a deep charcoal so it stands out against the bright walls. The block fireplace got a charcoal finish, a chunky wood mantel and floating shelves, and new recessed lighting brightens the whole space. Which detail stands out most to you? 👇
