A commercial space is not finished when the last nail goes in. It is finished when the owner can open the doors with confidence.
At the completed W**e Bar project, closeout included final inspections, a detailed punch list, and a walkthrough with the owner before opening day. We planned backward from the opening date so inspections, equipment checks, touch-ups, and cleaning happened in the right order instead of all landing in the final week.
Good work starts with listening. Before the walkthrough, we confirmed how the owner planned to run opening week and service. Then we walked the space together and reviewed the list:
• Egress paths, door hardware, and lighting
• Water, drains, exhaust, and refrigeration tested under real load
• Finish touch-ups and final cleaning
• Warranties, equipment information, and maintenance notes
For business owners, bring your opening team to the walkthrough. Plan the punch list into your opening schedule. The last five percent is what your guests actually see.
