To all my followers, HAPPY SPRING!!
Colorado weather has thrown a curve ball this year. We are coming out of a dry winter into an equally dry spring, so yards are begging to be watered. Yet forecast still has some cold nights and possible snow in forecast.
So what can a person do?
Let me talk about few things and what can be done.
Heat from house and ground is keep some heat in pipes to avoid them from freezing.
Primary freeze concern is after ground has been exposed to constant cold temperatures, overnights deep well below freezing, and the day temperatures stay below freezing. Then system is in danger zone of freeze damage.
To address freeze concern, there are options of pipe insulation that provide solution to hot days and the colder nights.
It will allow the exposed pipes to retain heat even longer and covering the backflow will protect parts larger than pipes. These simple steps can protect system allowing them to be turned on to give the water to yards begging to be watered.
Really no reason to remove the insulation, keeping it on allows you to wait longer to do sprinkler blowout in fall.
I do offer the insulation of pipes for $45 and you'll need to either have a cover or blanket to be available to cover main part of backflow.
If you are taking advantage of my sprinkler startup services, will will insulate pipes for $20
