Sealing a travertine shower correctly is more than wiping sealer across the surface.
Natural stone and grout need time to absorb the sealer. We apply it in sections, keep the surface properly saturated for several minutes, and make sure it doesn’t dry prematurely. That gives the stone and grout time to absorb as much protection as possible before the excess is removed.
Proper sealing helps reduce moisture absorption, staining, and premature wear — especially in a shower that sees water every day.
If you have a travertine shower, don’t assume it was sealed correctly just because someone said it was.
