A little behind-the-scenes from last Friday’s America ByDesign shoot at Wood Soup. Such a fun day getting to share the story behind the house and some of the details that make it special.

Big thanks to the America ByDesign crew and the homeowners for making it all happen. Can’t wait to see the finished episode!

- On The Boards -
STONEHENGE | Early sketch studies for a new primary suite and cozy sitting room addition, shaped around a curated forest landscape and outdoor living spaces that terrace gently into the site. Quiet spaces, filtered light, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape are driving the design.

BEACH PLUM | An addition and renovation to an existing cottage. A reimagined rear addition introduces a new kitchen, living, and dining space. The goal is simple: utilitarian forms that feel familiar but work harder, connecting directly to outdoor living and making the most of light, air, and the landscape.

Our Deer Run project, recently featured by Timber Trading Group. We selected ICON a thermally modified clear vertical grain Douglas fir siding to add warmth and a modern contrast for the addition.

BLACK POINT | A New England coastal home of simple shed roof volumes, quiet at the approach and opening to long views of the Sakonnet River. A three-bedroom main house with a connected two-bedroom guest wing, shaped by wind, water, and coastal light.

We’re honored to share that WOOD SOUP received a 2025 AIA Rhode Island Design Award — our first award, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Wood Soup captures what we love most about design — craftsmanship, connection, and the quiet feeling of home.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible clients for trusting us to bring this special home to life. This one means a lot. 🤍

- ON THE BOARDS -
Duck Cove A calm new primary suite overlooking the cove on Narragansett Bay.
Soft light, warm wood, and simple details make this space feel like a quiet retreat. It’s a place to wake up with the ospreys and herons and wind down by the water.
