“I think it’s just good to share important patriotism with the kids. They’re teenagers now, and they need to understand that, especially in a time when we’re not in the middle of a world war, what our military and our government has done to make sure that they can do the things that they do today because of a lot of people’s sacrifices and hard work.”

Happy birthday, President Roosevelt!

#TBT On this day in 1882 Franklin Delano Roosevelt, our nation's longest-serving president, was born. FDR is seen here laying the cornerstone for the Jefferson Memorial in 1939. Only 58 years later he would be honored with his own memorial on the National Mall. Happy birthday, FDR!
