We got to meet Lily from St. Michael Alaska while working on the doors at the Catholic church in St. Michael and Stebbins Alaska.
St. Michael is a village located on St. Michael Island in the Norton sound. It was a hub for fur trading in the 1830's by traders under the Russian-American fir company.
The industry shifted towards the gold rush in the 1900's and a communication hub for the military with the population surging to 10,000 during that era.
Today St Michael is a village of 456 people living a subsistence lifestyle relying on the lands that have supported their families for centuries.
We enjoyed performing our work in the communities of St. Michael and Stebbins. The churches now have brand new Grade 1 doors ready for the very cold winter ahead.
It was great to meet you Lily!
