Time for a refresher on spraying vs. brushing/rolling. I never spray and it makes all the difference! ๐คฉ
DID YOU KNOW?!
It's time for another DYK post, and this one is one of the most commonly discussed topics with my clients. It's almost always assumed that I use a sprayer to apply my paint products - I do not. I never have, and I never will and these pics explain why. Approximately 95% of the cabinets I paint are grainy golden oaks. In order to make sure the paint products settle nicely down into the grains, they must have the products "pushed" down into the grains with a smooth nap roller (see "rolled" finish in photo) or they will sit on top and show every bit of the grains (see "sprayed" finish in photo). Additionally, once the primer and paint layers have been applied, if the grains haven't been covered sufficiently I sand back the surfaces until they look smooth and apply a final coat of paint. Be sure you know exactly what to expect from your cabinet painter before your project begins. ๐
