I haven’t made many posts about gardening, preserving the harvest and homesteading in a while, but I am still here! I still have a productive wicking bed garden, and I am still collecting seeds, egg shells and used coffee grounds.
But here is the tricky thing that busy gardeners and homesteaders run into:
Lack of time during the busy harvest season. ⏰
With the rush and crush of ongoing Farmers Markets and the AYC Event at Inspiring Actions last weekend, some things got put on hold. I couldn’t can things fast enough, and produce spoiled. I had to compost some things I grew because it couldn’t be used. That is frustrating.
Once again, I have learned some lessons, and I am developing strategies for busy fall seasons of work, farmers markets, events and Julie Domres | Floral Designer weddings.
There is only so much time in a day, a week, a month. When stuff is ripe, it’s ripe and needs to be dealt with.
I am curious: what are your favorite hacks and practices for putting canning and dehydrating on hold until you have more time?
