Forage soybeans are quietly reshaping the way cattle producers think about feed β€” and the outcomes are hard to ignore. 🌱

Here is why forage soybeans deserve a place in your operation:

πŸ„ **Grazing** β€” With high protein content, excellent palatability, and rapid warm-season growth, forage soybeans offer a dense, productive grazing option that cattle take to naturally.

**Silage** β€” Harvested at the right stage, forage soybeans yield high-quality silage with strong protein and energy levels β€” giving your herd a meaningful nutritional advantage throughout the feeding season.

**Hay** β€” When properly dried and baled, forage soybean hay becomes a nutrient-dense feed source that can significantly reduce reliance on purchased protein supplements.

The true strength of forage soybeans lies in their versatility. Combined with available herbicide options, producers can adapt their harvest approach to match seasonal demands β€” whether that means direct grazing, filling the silo, or building hay inventory.

Selecting the right variety from the beginning is what separates a productive season from a truly great one. Big Fellow is ideal for silage, Large Lad stands out as the top choice for hay, and GameKeeper leads the way for grazing.

After we select varieties for advancement in our breeding program, we need to increase them to plant more acres. It starts with a single seed and over several generations we grow enough for our small increase combines to come in and take over. This allows for larger acres of seed to go into production on our seed farm. We walk the plots for offtypes to make sure varietal purity is maintained. Eagle Seed is one of the very few independent soybean breeding companies in the United States.

Forage soybeans are quietly reshaping the way cattle producers think about feed strategy β€” and the outcomes are hard to ignore. 🌱

Here is why forage soybeans deserve a place in your operation:

πŸ„ **Grazing** β€” With high protein content and strong palatability, forage soybeans are a crop cattle readily graze. Their rapid growth and dense canopy make them an outstanding warm-season grazing option.

**Rotation** -- Works great after corn silage, even as a double crop.

The versatility of forage soybeans β€” combined with available herbicide options β€” allows producers to adapt their harvest approach to whatever the season demands, whether that means direct grazing, filling the silo, or building hay inventory.

Selecting the right variety from the start is what separates a productive season from a truly great one. Big Fellow excels for silage, Large Lad stands out as the top choice for hay, and GameKeeper leads the way for grazing.

🌱 500 KIDS. 10 STATIONS. ONE BIG DAY OF LEARNING! Tuesday is going to be a big day at the Poinsett County Main Street Learning Park! We've worked with the great folks of the Poinsett County Extension Service for 10 years Each year, Eagle Seed hosts a couple of the stations where kids get to explore, discover, and learn more about agriculture, food, wildlife, and the world around them. The Farm Bureau milking cow is always a big hit along with our area wildlife biologist, Jason Carbaugh, from the Arkansas Game and Fish.
The best kind of learning happens when kids can get their hands dirty, ask questions, and see things for themselves. We're excited to help bring agriculture to life for the next generation!
A huge thank-you to everyone helping make this day possible. We can't wait to see 500 curious minds in action! 🌾🐝🌽

🦌 Many of our customers chose our later maturing forage soybeans to keep the deer active during bow season. When we have nice weather into October, the plots truly come alive β€” and the difference in performance is undeniable.

Not all forage is built to withstand heavy deer pressure. Some varieties fade fast under repeated browsing, while others keep pushing new growth throughout the entire season. That comes down to genetics. Up to twice as many nodes per plant β€” and the math follows naturally. Twice as many nodes. Twice as many branches. Twice as many leaves. Twice as much protein per acre.

The numbers speak for themselves.

In side by side plots, our late maturity forage soybeans are not only loaded with pods, they still continue to provide forage while shading out the ground helping to combat weeds. They fix double and triple the amount of carbon in the soil which increases organic matter and soil health. www.eagleseed.com

Just want to wish the kids luck this year with the 4-H Food Plot Contest. They are learning about soil testing, planting depth, fertilization, water management, tillage, and how plants respond to the environment. They will see many species of plants and hopefully many species of wildlife.

We want to send Jaret Rushing from UA Forestry Extension Service a big thank you. He has done a great job the last two years in building the program after our loss of Dr. McPeake.

Bigger plants, bigger roots, better ground next year.
