Time to move those holiday cactus in an extra bedroom to get them to bloom by the holidays. These are considered Thanksgiving cactus. I move them up to one of our extra bedrooms to get the blooming process going.

They need longer, uninterrupted nights and cooler temperatures to encourage those beautiful flower buds to form. I keep them in a room where they’ll have plenty of darkness at night and bright, indirect light during the day.

Once the buds form I can move them back to the front porch.

These will hopefully be blooming by November.

On another note my little star cactus is blooming on the front porch…..see last 2 photos.

Everleaf Emerald Tower and Everleaf Genovese basil….My new favorite basils. The first two pictures are from in my garden now. Planted it at the end of May and still going strong and not yet flowering! I will definitely offer these again next spring.
