Welcome to Jeff Valenson Design! -

THANK YOU, JELLIO for featuring us!

We love introducing the colorful pop-art whimsy of the Cupcake Seat in the foyer of our La Quinta project, setting the tone for all the fun to come!

It’s not just for children anymore.

CHAISE ALL YOUR CARES AWAY | THE FANTASY CONTINUES as glass walls disappear and the oasis expands to embrace the palatial patio and poolside paradise.

Bask on the sun drenched deck or lounge just beneath the water, swing in style with a pal in the cocoon-like egg chairs or collapse onto the custom cushy and comfy couch … then let twilight’s transformation create its own magic; dine alfresco, rock ‘round the fire pit in a modernist tableau as sexy solar lamps ignite the darkening sky …

shake or stir. repeat.

A ROOM WITH A VIEW … GET SWEPT AWAY as the inviting environment reinvigorates and welcomes one and all to smile and relax and feel right at home.
An entrancing painting by artist Andy Moses is the focal point of the great room and inspired the subtle spirals and swirls of not only this generously scaled oasis but led the design directive for the entire project.
Unexpectedly colorful and vibrant, for sure, yet casually elegant and welcoming; each piece attentively designed and selected, but nothing is precious. We call it “curated casual”.

The deep custom sectional is unusually expansive and oh … so … comfy.
Tables made from recycled milk bottles rest upon a custom dyed and handwoven rug while two uniquely upholstered swivel chairs assure that nothing will be missed. A streamlined console runs the length and hugs the back of the sofa providing a place for more books and special finds and yet another place to place your drink. Can there be too many … places?

C’mon.

Ps: use a coaster. What are we, barbarians?

FEAST YOUR EYES … THE MINIMALISTIC YET ROMANTIC allure of the Dining Room focuses on modern shapes and finishes that reflect and absorb the beautiful changing light and resulting shadows through the traditional arched window by day and create a lux luminosity by night. The sky’s the limit when creating a sumptuous celebration or a simple, sexy dinner for two beneath a radiating flash of light across the desert sky.
The large bespoke, glossy, faux live-edge table appears to have been cut from some enchanted forest while the installation of meteorite-like sculptures by Atticus Adams have befittingly fallen from the fanciful heavens above directly upon their pedestals like hallowed ancient artifacts.

QUINTESSENTIAL KITCHEN … AS AN EXTENSION OF THE GREAT ROOM, there is ample space for preparing everything from fanciful feasts to the simplest of snacks and a cozy counter for a casual nosh.

Inspired by the daughter’s pencil sketches, we selected a simply sophisticated pattern of stone to celebrate the vast expanses with newly appointed waterfall edges pouring down the sides of the islands while the veining draws across the sweeping backsplash and counters.

We added whimsical celestial clouds to continue the playful pop art vibe as a curvy cursive neon installation reminds us that LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED 💖

*PLUS* a hint of the largest custom sofa we’ve ever designed.

COME ON IN, THE WATER’S FINE … THE FUN CONTINUES as we were inspired by the sparkling swimming pool beyond the adjoining patio and terrace - a timeless symbol of luxuriating in a desert oasis - by supersizing and applying the sexy scene to the Master Bedroom Suite bed wall.
White Oak was the material of choice in creating the custom king four poster bed and bedside tables. Across the room, built-in shelves and a bench flank the fireplace to create a calm and easy sensuous symmetry. The most subdued of blues, drawn from the wallpaper, was applied to the vestibule, softly reflected in the mirror’s sculptural frame.
It was all about providing a simple and sophisticated respite for our client; visibly and tangibly … day or night … throughout every season …

Can you feel it?

CASITA FANTASIA | The Client wanted us to create a place for their daughter to bring and hang out with her friends without feeling under the watchful eyes of her parents. Thus, the attached but just far-enough-away Casita became a little house for entertaining teens while also providing a welcoming oasis which all guests would enjoy.
We chose a desert lilac color to create an easy, inviting vibe for the walls and fabrics in various tones and textures to subtly saturate the rooms, while the hallway was wallpapered in a custom tone-on-tone print to create unexpected magic between spaces.
A signature JVD banquette was added to the kitchenette for dining or playing games and more illuminated panels in both the living room and bedroom can be prompted to create a mini-musical light show at the touch of a phone.

We’re thinking … let’s stay there.

A PEONY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS | we love creating unique “Jewel Box” Powder Rooms. Most everyone who visits a home is going to see it - even if it’s because someone asks “have you seen the Powder Room?”
As Pink is a favorite color of our client we chose to create the illusion of the inhabitant blooming forth from the center of a perfectly pink peony.
With a bounty of fragrant bouquets, face awash in a fantastically flattering light and the wallpaper reflecting that gorgeous sun-kissed glow, one may want to take a few more glances before re-emerging as fresh as a … peony.

AFTER & BEFORE - we thought it would be fun to show from whence we came.
We fully embrace and understand creating neutral and dark environments - in fact, we love it (see past posts) but we understood the assignment.
