The Change Maker ❤️
Looking back on last weekend, the theme was change. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that change sometimes happens a whole lot faster than I’d like.
Man…Skye is growing up SO fast.
She’s the one who first blessed me with the title of Dad. And thanks to the pandemic allowing me to work from home, I was blessed with something I’ll never take for granted…TIME. Time to be present, watch her grow, and build a bond that means more than words can explain.
But life changes. Schedules get busier. Our family grows. And somehow, that little girl I spent so much time with is becoming a bright, confident, independent young lady right before my eyes.
That’s why weekends like this mean so much. A chance to slow down, reconnect, and just enjoy being Daddy and Skye. Just us making memories.
We had a great time in ATL! Good food, exploring downtown, the Children’s Museum, and all things Gabby’s Dollhouse. But a highlight was visiting the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, where Skye experienced the Change Makers exhibit. Watching her learn and explore reminded me that while I wish I could slow down time, I’m equally excited about who she’s becoming.
Our soundtrack was her current jam, “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys. And I couldn’t think of a more fitting song. She’s approaching life with curiosity, confidence, and purpose. Finding her voice, discovering her interests, and showing me more of who she is every day.
I don’t know what it is about Atlanta, but this girl LOVES that city! Everything lined up perfectly. Getting her her first jersey and being able to see that dub were the icing on the cake!
One day, she may not remember every stop we made. But I pray she always remembers how much her Daddy loved spending time with her, and that no matter how much life changes, I’ll always be in her corner.
The world is changing. She’s changing. And in so many ways, she’s changing me, too.
Keep shining, baby girl. Keep growing. Keep setting the world on fire. Daddy will always be your biggest fan.
Love you, Skye. Always!
