Today was the perfect day for going on a native plant walk and foraging.

There’s something magical about stepping off the beaten path and into the forest—slowing down, breathing in the fresh air, and discovering the incredible native plants growing all around us. 🍃

Foraging connects us to the land. It’s a chance to learn which plants are edible, medicinal, and useful. Every walk becomes a lesson in nature’s abundance. 🌱✨

But with foraging comes respect: know before you harvest. Learn to identify plants with certainty, take only what you need, leave plenty behind for wildlife and future growth.

Here are some of the plants that we foraged today-
🌱Wild Sasparella
🌱Wild Stinging Nettle
🌱Black Birch
🌱Staghorn Sumac Berries
🌱Japanese Barberry Root

Featured Native - Elderberry
One of nature's most beloved native shrubs. Elderberry has long been treasured in herbal traditions for supporting wellness. In the spring it graces the landscape with fragrant white flower clusters tha attract pollinators and by late summer those blossoms transform into rich purple-black berries enjoyed by birds, wildlife and herbalist alike. Elderberry reminds us of the abundance and healing gifts found in nature.
