Our Cyclamen are ready and giving off some beautiful blooming color 🌸 These are the perfect indoor plant for the fall and winter as they don’t mind the cooler weather. Plus, they are long-blooming, giving you bright colors indoors!
Tips:
- 🌡️ Keep them cool: Cyclamen prefer temperatures around 50–65°F. Keep them away from heat vents, fireplaces, and warm, sunny rooms.
- ☀️ Provide bright, indirect light: An east-facing window is ideal. A little gentle morning sun is fine, but avoid strong afternoon sunlight.
- 💧 Water carefully: Water when the top of the soil feels dry. Bottom watering is a great option—set the pot in water for about 15–20 minutes, then let it drain thoroughly.
- 🪴 Avoid soggy soil: Cyclamen tubers can rot if kept too wet. Always use a pot with drainage holes, and don’t let the plant sit in standing water.
- 🌸 Remove spent blooms: Gently twist and pull faded flowers and yellowing leaves from the base of the stems to encourage a tidy appearance and continued flowering.
- Cyclamen naturally go dormant after flowering, often as temperatures rise in spring. Leaves may yellow and die back. Reduce watering during dormancy, keeping the tuber from becoming excessively wet, and resume regular care when new growth appears.
The biggest secret to success: Keep cyclamen cool, provide bright light, and avoid overwatering. Unlike many popular houseplants, they often thrive in the cooler rooms of your home during fall and winter.
🌸 Fun fact: Cyclamen flowers have distinctive swept-back petals that give them a butterfly-like appearance, making them a lovely seasonal indoor plant.
