I’m a garage door contractor. To do business in Ohio, I don’t have to be licensed. Neither does any other contractor. Here are a few tips when doing business with any contractor:
-Check the BBB.
-Check Google and even Facebook.
-Get three estimates.
-Ask for proof of insurance.
-Get everything in writing. (It’s common for me to hear “your competitor said he’s giving me the best door.” Then I ask, what’s the product and labor warranty? What is the R. Value? What exactly is included and how long will it take? I usually hear “I’m not sure.”)
-Never pay all the money up front.
-Never pay the balance until the job is complete.
-If you are having trouble getting answers, choose another company. There are a lot of top quality companies in this area. You deserve to be treated right!
