Watch me paint this 1hr study in 45 seconds 👩🏻‍🎨🫶🏻🌺

This is one of the shortest quick studies I have done and it pushed me 😂 super pleased I managed to get some vibrant pops of pink in those vintage roses though!

I think I like this more muted colour palette so I'm planning to a few more based off of this chic vibe!

'Honey wild' for the taste of summer and golden evenings ☀️

I was trying to channel my inner Sorolla for this one (hands down one of my favourite painters), because I loved the way the light was hitting those orange roses. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out how to best simplify the petals and create that sense of form in the late afternoon sun!

I think the gold and green colours are some of my new favourites! Would you like to see more flowers in this palette?!

I tried a more crowded composition with this painting, because I love the feeling of being in amongst the flowers. Still obsessed with those super vibrant pops of pink and red 🍒

Still in my dark tulip era and I'm loving it 🌷🖤

All of these pieces have been inspired by 17th century Dutch flower paintings. I just swooned over those dark backgrounds, the drama, and so atmospheric! I'm currently re-reading my favourite gothic novels (Frankenstein by Mary Shelly is at the top of the list) so general life is complimenting this vibe perfectly.

I'm thinking of painting some other dark pieces but changing up the flowers?! Mabye peonies next?! Or roses?!

It was a challenge to balance so many different vibrant colours, but I had a lot of fun stacking all those brushstrokes 🫶🏻🦋💚

‘Peach Haze’ 🍑 one of my newest oil paintings that found it’s home at the Wimbledon Art Fair last weekend!

I painted these roses in the light cast by a warm spring sunset, and I loved how the close-up composition turned out as it feels so immersive. I was heavily inspired by the effect of desert mirages and hazy evenings for this painting, and I wanted to invoke a sense of romance and possibility for the summer nights ahead.

I’m so grateful for all the lovely people who stopped by to see me at the fair. Thank you to everyone who bought new pieces, and for the amazing conversations about art and life! 👩🏻‍🎨🫶🏻
